DEC IMPIANTI S.p.A.
ETAC | ethyl acetate | ethyl ethanoate | solvent recovery
DEC IMPIANTI S.p.A. is a private corporation, focused on engineering and supply of turn key sustainable industrial VOCs and HAPs emission control systems for the flexible packaging, chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. Backed with 75+ years of global experience, thanks to products of the highest quality, patented and/or innovative processes, with thousands of systems in operation, we are facing the global challenges, focusing on innovative sustainable technologies and research.
As worldwide market leaders in activated carbon solvent recovery systems (SRU), inert gas (nitrogen, N2) regenerated, DEC IMPIANTI has designed, engineered and delivered more units than any other competitor combined.

ETAC | ethyl acetate | ethyl ethanoate | solvent recovery
Ethyl Acetate is used primarily as a solvent and diluent, being favored because of its availability, low toxicity, and agreeable odor.
The DEC.RSG™ process is a hot nitrogen regeneration process for activated carbon solvent recovery units (SRUs): a safe and efficient process that reduces drastically the hydrolisis reaction, thus the formation of Acetic Acid. The DEC.RSG™ process is used to recover a variety of solvents, including acetates (e.g. ETAC | ethyl acetate | ethyl ethanoate).
The DEC.RSG™ process works by passing hot nitrogen through the activated carbon bed. The hot nitrogen heats up the activated carbon, which releases the adsorbed solvents. The solvents are then condensed and collected. A safe and efficient process that has been used to recover ETAC streams, alone or in mixtures, since 30 years: it is the preferred process for recovering solvents from activated carbon beds. First installation of the SRU, nitrogen regenerated, for ETAC recovery is dated back to 1980s.
